About Me

I graduated from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2018 with a degree in communications, believing I'd use it to enter a career in website design. However, I entered journalism after enjoying contributing to a music blog in 2020. I took a UCLA entertainment journalism course taught by award-winning journalist Marc Malkin, and earned my master's degree in information technology from Southern New Hampshire University later that year. By that December, my work was featured in blogs, edm.com and MTV News. I later earned two internships at Portland Monthly Magazine and Dig IN Magazine, the latter giving me the chance to cover the South by Southwest Festival in 2021. Between 2021 and 2023, I wrote hundreds of articles and earned certificates in modern journalism and music industry essentials from New York University's Yellowbrick Program. I also worked as a content writer, live blogger, and mentored a student interested in a career in music journalism.
